Ewan Steady is a UK-based composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist currently in his final year of studying BMus Popular Music at the University of Huddersfield.
Ewan has been engaged in music from a young age, learning the piano and tenor horn at six years old before moving onto the guitar at the age of eight. Whilst at high school he became involved in a variety of ensemble playing, varying from brass bands to rock bands to traditional folk groups, and also found an interest in using music technology to write and record music, particularly in the field of video game and film music, both of which eventually influenced him to pursue music as a career.
Since 2016, Ewan has been a member of The Coostie Folk - a Scottish ceilidh/function band - in which he plays the mandolin, a variety of folk whistles/flutes and occasionally banjo too. Ewan is also the frontman for the Huddersfield-based alternative rock band Just Suppose, who formed during their first year of university in 2017.
In addition to his work in the field of music, Ewan also enjoys practicing photography, art and reading great works of fiction.
